How long have you been in business?
I was licensed in 2000 and helped an established agent for a short period before starting on my own.
What is your primary product or service?
I am a REALTOR (real estate agent member of National Association of REALTORS who has pledged to follow a code of ethics and standards of practice). I list properties for sell and represent sellers, and I am an Accredited Buyer Representative, representing buyers and helping them find a home that suits their needs.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I was a legal secretary, then paralegal for many years. As a paralegal I assisted an attorney with large commercial real estate transactions and enjoyed "the art" of the deal very much. My mother was a REALTOR for about 10 years and she encouraged me to get into the business and out of an 8x8 office with no windows!
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I strive to provide a higher level of service and attention to details that make a difference for my clients. I have found that when you put the customer first and do the very best you can to promote their interests, the business success and financial gain just falls in place without it being your primary focus.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I am brokered by RE/MAX Greater Atlanta and we have about 11 offices around the metro. I work primarily out of the 2 Gwinnett offices but, having been born and raised around Atlanta, I am capable of providing service in many areas and can always make use of other offices if I need to for any reason.
Provide detailed directions to your location
Take Stone Mountain Freeway (U.S. 78) east, thru Snellville, past Grayson Parkway (there is a QT gas station on the corner). After the Parkway, go about 1/4th mile and at the top of a small hill, we are the single story brick building on the left, just before a traffic light. There is a big REMAX sign and you can't miss us.
What type of payments do you accept?
Real estate agents can only be paid by their broker. Buyer agency is a free service to the buyer as our commission is typically paid from the seller's funds at closing. When I represent a seller, the commission is paid as part of the closing when we sell the house.
Which areas do you service?
Gwinnett County, Walton County, Dekalb County, (south) Forsyth County, Rockdale County, Snellville, Loganville, Lawrenceville, Monroe, Conyers, Social Circle, Covington, Walnut Grove, Tucker, Grayson, Suwanee, Duluth, Buford, Stone Mountain, Lilburn, Alpharetta, Dacula, Auburn, Norcross, Braselton
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
REMAX Greater Atlanta is owned by a corporation formed by a small group of real estate brokers. My particular office is owned and run by Bill Perdue, with a managing broker of Charles Martin, and an office manager of Kathy McCusker. My office staff assists with the administrative side of the business which frees me up to handle all customer service aspects myself.
What are your hours of operation?
I am very flexible as I believe it is necessary to attempt to make myself available, within reason, to assist my clients in working around their daily work schedules as much as possible. I typically stop taking calls in the evening after 7 PM unless I am in the middle of negotiation on a contract. If I am showing property, my last appointment time is 7 PM. If I am called to a seller's home to discuss listing their property, my last appointment time is 7 PM in the summer and 6 PM in the winter.
